LION’s SHARE FOR FAZ-NKANDU
By Chansa Kunda:
Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu says the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- requires more funds compared to other federations.
Nkandu says FAZ always gets a huge budgetary allocation to help the senior men’s national football team fulfill international fixtures.
The Minster was responding to calls by the National Sports Council of Zambia-NSCZ- to increase financial allocation to the sports mother body.
Nkandu said the new regime will provide equal allocation of funds to all Federations for their local and international engagements.
He assured the council that the Ministry will address the insufficient funding through the 2022 national budget which is currently under formulation.
Nkandu has called on Federations to engage corporate firms and source for more financial support.
He further said the position of the national Sports Council Acting General Secretary that has been held by Raphael Mulenga who was seconded from the ministry will be revisited.
