Low covid-19 vaccination turnout irks Veep
Lupindula Mwewa- Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO is concerned with the poor turnout among members of the public in the COVID 19 vaccination exercise.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says government targeted to vaccinate seventy percent of the eligible population against COVID 19 by July this year.
She however says government might not meet the desired seventy percent as the current number of vaccinated people stands at twenty two percent country wide.
Speaking during the national re launch of the COVID 19 vaccination in Solwezi, Mrs. NALUMANGO implored traditional leaders and members of the clergy to join in the fight against COVID 19.
Meanwhile USAID country representative LEKANI BANDA says the United States of America has set aside $50m dollars funding to help Zambia country fight COVID 19.
Dr. BANDA says the USA has so far supported government with 4.6m doses of the COVID 19 vaccine.
He says Zambia is among the first sub Saharan countries to receive the COVAX support.
