Lungu Donates to the Quarantined in Sikongo
President Edgar Lungu has donated a cow to the 13 Zambians from Angola, who have been quarantined in Sikongo district.
Disaster Management Mitigation Unit (DMMU) National Coordinator, Chanda Kabwe has handed over the Cow on behalf of President Lungu and said government is determined to help and protect every Zambian during the wave of the COVID-19.
Mr. Kabwe says the fight against the COVID-19 is a collective one and needs everyone’s efforts and contribution.
He assured the District Commissioner that government will look at the possibility of putting up permanent structures at the camp.
Meanwhile, Sikongo District Commissioner Retired Captain Cecilia Limwanya thanked the President for his continued support to the people in need.
The DC said the isolation camp has had numerous challenges since its establishment which DMMU has since been addressing.
She explained that the isolation centre has received constant supply of food and other non-food materials from the DMMU, used by both the quarantined and the front-line staff.
