MATAMBO TOURS MOPANI
The Government says it understands the challenges and financial needs for Mopani Copper Mines as it seeks to increase production.
Copperbelt Province Minister ELISHA MATAMBO said this when he toured Mopani Copper Mines Mufulira Underground Mine site.
Mr. MATAMBO said the government will soon be making a pronouncement on the operations of Mopani Copper Mines which will address all the challenges being faced.
He observed that the future of Mopani Copper Mines is bright, adding that the government will support the mining company to meet expected production levels.
Mr. MATAMBO has further called for patience among sector players because the mining industry remains key to the country’s economic development.
Meanwhile, Mufulira Underground Mine site Mine Manager ROY NYAMBE disclosed that the mining company is seeking to develop a new crusher to improve on production.
