Justin Akuakulubelwa-Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Minister, CHARLES MILUPI, has encouraged architects in the country to invest in science and technology and make modern construction information an integral part of the construction industry.
Mr. MILUPI says the new dawn government is keen on the use of information, communication and technology in finding solutions to the challenges faced in cities.
The Minister says scientific innovation and technological advancements should be used to take care of the needs of different users of infrastructure, including the differently abled members of society.
Mr. MILUPI says the use of scientific innovation and technology will also reduce time and cost of doing projects thereby giving value for money while attaining quality infrastructure.
The Minister said this when he officially opened the 2021 Zambia Institute of Architects Conference in Livingstone today.
And Zambia Institute of Architects President, BWALYA MASABU, has appealed to the government to ensure no government to government project is executed in the country without the participation of local architects.
Mr. MASABU said the involvement of local architects will create employment for many Zambians.
