MORE TEACHERS VACCINATED

Muchinga Provincial Education Officer Allan Kaoma is happy with the number of teachers, who have received the Covid-19 vaccination ahead of the re-opening of schools tomorrow.
Dr. Kaoma is impressed with the number of teachers in Mpika and Kanchibiya districts getting vaccinated against Covid-19.
He says it is important to follow all the protocols put in place by the government through the Ministry of health aimed at halting the further spread of the deadly disease.
Speaking at Mpika Boy’s Secondary School yesterday, Dr Kaoma said COVID-19 vaccination is being done voluntarily and is one of the measures aimed at steming the spread of the pandemic.
The Provincial Education Officer said teachers are at high risk of contracting the Covid-19 hence the need for them to seriously take all the precautions as prescribed by the Ministry of health.
Dr. Kaoma said it is good to note that a total of 137 teachers with 50 of them from Lwitikala Girl’s Secondary School in Mpika , have received COVID-19 vaccination in the last 24 hours.
And Muchinga Province Health Director Nero Chilembo encouraged more people to come forward and receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
Dr. Chilembo said people, who are not vaccinated are at risky of contracting the COVID 19 and becoming very ill.
And Muchinga Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Jonathan Ng’onga called for enhanced sensitization on Covid-19 vaccination so to increase the number of people receiving the vaccination.
Mr. Ngonga encouraged more people to receive the Covid-19 vaccination saying the projected 4th wave of the Covid-19 is believed to be more lethal hence to prepare and ensure that more people are inoculated.
