MUCHIMA CALLS FOR PRUDENT MANAGEMENT OF LAND
By Mark Ziligone –
Lands and Natural Resources Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA is concerned with the poor management of land across the country amidst a fast growing population.
Mr. MUCHIMA says Zambia should learn from countries that have accounted for their land like Rwanda.
The minister has since called for prudent management of land as Government plans its National Land Implementation Policy.
Mr. MUCHIMA has further called for proper land audits to determine the amount of land that Zambia has.
He was speaking during the Multi-Stakeholders National Lands policy implementation plan dialogue in Lusaka today.
Mr. MUCHIMA also appealed to stakeholders to consider supporting the National Lands policy implementation plan.
And speaking on behalf of United Nations Country Coordinator, UNFPA Representative GIFT MALUNGA pledged to support the plan.
Ms. MALUNGA said prudent use of Land and Natural Resources helps to contribute to the country’s economy.
