MULTITUDES TURN UP FOR VACCINATION IN CHINGOLA
Large crowds have characterised the first day of the programme for the Johnson and Johnson Covid-19 vaccination in Chingola District on the Copperbelt.
Several Police officers, civil servants and senior citizens were among the first people to get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine which is being administered at Nchanga North Hospital.
Chingola District Commissioner AGNESS TONGA, who was one of the people to get the jab, encouraged Chingola residents to get the vaccine and protect themselves.
Ms. TONGA said government has provided the vaccines for free and citizens must take advantage of the opportunity.
And Zambia Police Chingola District Deputy Officer Commanding NICHOLAS YULU said he decided to get vaccinated to protect himself and others from the Coronavirus.
Mr. YULU said his officers are concerned with the threat of the virus and they are following government instructions to get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, one of the senior citizens IRIS MTONGA said she had been waiting for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine because she didn’t want to be vaccinated twice.
Ms. MTONGA said she got the jab in order to protect herself.
And her elder sister IRIS MTONGA encouraged other senior citizens to get the vaccine and protect themselves.
