NALUMANGO CALLS FOR STRICT PUBLIC HEALTH SECURITY

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called for concerted efforts aimed at enhancing public health security.
Mrs NALUMANGO says the advent of the COVID 19 pandemic calls for multi-sectoral efforts to effectively prepare and respond to emerging diseases .
She has explained that there is also need to have a measured response so that trans-boundary transmission of pests and diseases is minimised .
Mrs NALUMANGO was speaking at the Coalition of African Parliamentarians on Human -Animal health and Environment-CAPAH- high level fundraising Dinner in Lusaka last evening .
This is under the theme : One Health for Economic Development.
She has since commended Members of Parliament for the work they are doing through CAPAH in addressing the one health for economic development.
And Chairperson of CAPAH AMBROSS LUFUMA said through CAPAH,
Parliamentarians seek to develop and strengthen partnerships with technocrats in Government , Civil Society Organisations locally and abroad.
Mr LUFUMA, who is also defence Minister, said his organization is aware of the fact that HIV-Aids, Malaria ,non communicable diseases and other emerging health challenges such as COVID 19 must be addressed to achieve sustainable development goals .
Meanwhile , some stakeholders such as GRIZZLY MINING limited pledged a hard body Landcruiser worth One Million Kwacha towards the work of CAPAH .
