By Mark Ziligone:
Government has started the delivery of fertilizer to farmers in some provinces for the 2021-2022 Farmers Input Support Program, FISP
And Neria’s Investment, one of the companies contracted to distribute the commodity has assured Government that it will deliver the commodity within the contractual period.
Company General Manager Martin Chaikatisha says the company has for the past years worked well with Government in ensuring early delivery of fertilizer to boost the agricultural sector.
Speaking when he flagged off the distribution exercise in Lusaka today, Mr. Chaikatisha said production figures have continued to increase due to early distribution of fertilizer.
He said he is pleased that the call for early delivery of inputs by President Edgar Lungu has over the past years become a reality.
Mr. Chaikatisha added that the much-earned success in the country’s agricultural sector has also been attributed to the early delivery of farming inputs.
Neria’s Investment Limited has been contracted to supply and deliver One hundred and 35 thousand metric tonnes of both compound D and Urea fertilizer to Eastern, Northern, Muchinga and some parts of Central Provinces.
