Thirteen times Super League Champions NKANA have ended their ten games dry spell following a two nil victory over Arch Rivals Power Dynamos in an electric Kitwe derby.
The Kitwe derby which has had a long span of rivalry and fierce history was the highlight of the day in week 29 of the MTN Super League fixtures as BESTON CHABESHI guided his side to an all important first victory of his forth time return to Wusakile.
Coming to the game Dynamos where basking in the three nil victory over Nkana from the first round but NKANA who are still in the doldrums of relegation had a surprise at hand.
NKANA drew the first blood as they found the back of the net in the 30th minute through Diamond Chikwekwe.
NKANA scored their second in extra time as newly power Dynamos export to Nkana Alex Ng’onga scored for his side to earn the bragging rights of Kitwe city.
Despite the victory NKANA are still second bottom of the log on 25 points while Dynamos are 8th on 38 points.
Elsewhere Green Buffaloes beat Lumwana Radiants four nil as former buffaloes Coach Bilton Musonda was treated to a humiliating welcome.
Other games saw NAPSA Stars beat Prison Leopards by two goals to one, Young Green Eagles beat Indeni three goals to two while Green Eagles beat Lusaka Dynamos two goals to nil.
And Green Buffaloes’ Justin Chinama said the victory is a boost for his side towards relegation survival.
His counterpart Bilton Musonda said the team’s focus is to win its remaining games so that they can maintain their stay in the super League.
