“No Pleasure in Disciplining Civil Servants”
By Tazzie Chayinda-Government says it does not take pleasure in disciplining civil servants because it values their contribution to national development.
Civil Service Commission Vice Chairperson Hillary Chipango however says this is why civil servants should adhere to ethics and guidelines to ensure that they improve their work culture.
Mr. Chipango noted that civil servants are key in improving the socio-economic development of the country.
He said this when the commission addressed senior heads of departments in Chavuma North-western Province.
And Civil Service Commission Chairperson Dickson Chasaya called for loyalty and commended civil servants serving in remote areas.
Meanwhile Civil Service Commission Secretary Geoffrey Kamfwa said the Commission is aware of the challenge of frozen positions in Government Ministries which is emanating from failure to follow the correct procedures in handling Human Resource related cases
Mr Kamfwa said Government will transfer civil servants to places where there is greater need.
