NORTH PF HAILS GENERAL ASSEMBLY
(ZANIS) The Patriotic Front -PF- in Northern Province has expressed confidence that the party will now be stronger ahead of the general election following its successful holding of the general conference.
Speaking to Journalists in Kasama, PF Provincial Chairperson, Chomba Chipili said the onus now remains with the general membership to work hard and ensure victory for the ruling party during the August 12, 2021 general election.
Mr. Chipili said the strength of the party lies in the decisions that were made by the General Assembly.
Meanwhile, Members of Parliament in Northern Province have hailed the general assembly for constituting what they have described as a balanced team of members of the central committee.
Lupososhi Member of Parliament, Chungu Bwalya who is also the Provincial Minister and his Lunte Counterpart, Mutotwe Kafwaya expressed happiness at the election of the newly constituted Members of the Central Committee.
Mr. Bwalya said he believes in President Lungu’s wisdom and has since expressed confidence that the party will prosper under his leadership.
He has since pledged loyalty and support to the President and the members of the central committee.
And Mr Kafwaya, who is also Transport and Communications Minister, said the inclusion of people from all regions in the central committee is a clear indication that the party embraces togetherness.
He noted that with President Edgar Lungu at the helm of the party leadership, victory during the August 12 general election is certain for the ruling PF.
Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Minister, Godfridah Sumaili has hailed President Lungu for providing what she termed as visionary leadership in the country.
And the New Congress Party has congratulated the PF for the successful convention held over the weekend.
New Congress Party Secretary General Daniel Nyati has also congratulated Davies Mwila on his re-appointment as PF Secretary General.
And Mr. Nyati says his party will participate in this year’s general election.
He has invited the party membership to apply for adoption at all levels starting from the position of Party President.
Mr. Nyati told ZNBC News in a walk-in interview that applications must be sent to the secretariat by Friday April 16th, 2021.
He has particularly encouraged women and the youth to apply for adoption.
