OLD SIMON MWANSA KAPWEPWE AIRPORT RENAMED PETER ZUZE AIR FORCE BASE

President Edgar Lungu has handed over the old Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport in Ndola to the Zambia Air Force.
President Lungu says the airport will now be called the Peter Zuze Air Force base.
The President also says the Samora Machel Air force base in Mbala will be handed over to the Zambia Airports Corporation Limited.
President Lungu says the move will help improve tourism and the aviation industry in the northern circuit.
President Lungu said this in Livingstone today when he commissioned three hundred and thirty-three Zambia Airforce officer cadets.
And President Lungu said government has released 200 Million Kwacha owed to civil servant and defence personnel.
The President further ordered that the debt swap be extended to men and women in uniform.
He said government wants to give a relief to government workers including the officers in the military.
And Zambia Air Force Commander Lieutenant General David Muma thanked government for equipping the air force with modern equipment.
General Muma said ZAF is ready to defend the country’s air space.
