OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES URGED TO EMULATE PF
(ZANIS) A visually impaired man of Choma Lazarous Hakalebula has urged the opposition political parties to emulate the Patriotic Front -PF- that have adopted disabled persons to stand on its ticket in this year’s election.
Mr. Hakalebula says it is an open secret that some disabled persons had applied to stand on the ticket of some opposition political parties but have not been adopted.
He says Politics is not only for the able bodied but even those living with Disabilities as they too can contribute to the democratic processes in the country.
Speaking in a walk in interview at ZANIS office in Choma Mr. Hakalebula said it was disappointing that people with disabilities were being discriminated against by some political parties that claim to be championing the calls of the marginalized such as the blind in society.
During the adoption process, the Patriotic Front PF adopted a visually impaired University of Zambia Lecturer as their Parliamentary candidate for Chasefu Constituency of Eastern Province.
