OYDC CONSIDERS SHUT DOWN
By Chansa Kunda-OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre says there is a high possibility of undergoing an indefinite closure owing to the spike in COVID-19 cases.
OYDC Zambia Chief Executive Officer Fredrick Chitangala says the escalating COVID-19 cases pose a threat to operations of the center.
Chitangala says last year the facility was closed for six months after the country recorded its first two COVID-19 cases.
He was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
Last week, one of the centre’s frequent users tested positive to COVID-19 which led to suspension of activities for two weeks.
And Chitangala said some people that came in contact with the coach have been tested and results came out negative.
