By Mark Ziligone
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people Northern Province says he is pleased with the consistent bumper harvests recorded among small scale farmers under the PF administration.
The Traditional Leader says the majority of small-scale farmers have been able to produce good crop yields due to the timely distribution of farming inputs under the PF Leadership.
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu adds that the unprecedented early distribution of farming inputs has changed the face of the country’s agriculture sector compared to past years.
The Traditional leader says the continued bumper harvests recorded in Northern Province is an indication and assurance of a food secure nation.
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu was speaking when Neria’s Investments Limited General Manager Martin Chaikatisha called on him at his palace in Mungwi District.
And Mr. Chaikatisha said his company will consider promoting value-addition in the agricultural sector following the continued good crop yields being recorded.
He explained that this will be done by setting up processing plants that will add value to agricultural produce.
Mr. Chaikatisha also observed that Zambia is able to feed itself and become the food basket for the entire region due to increased capacity to produce more as a result of good policies under the PF government.
