Police Nab Impersonator

Police in Lusaka have arrested a 31-year-old man for impersonating a police officer after he was found wearing a full police combat uniform.

Police Spokesperson, Esther Katongo has identified the suspect as Abraham Kumwenda.

Mrs. Katongo says Kumwenda was discovered last Wednesday between 18 and 19 hours at Foxdale court along Zambezi Road by an alert Police Officer of Airport Division.

She has told ZNBC News that upon interrogation, it was discovered that the person in question was an imposter, who was using a uniform of a named police officer.

Mrs. Katongo said the suspect is in Police Custody charged with impersonating a public officer and the uniform has been seized.

She said an inquiry has since been launched to establish the source of the Uniform.
