Senior Chief MUSELE of Kalumbila District in North Western Province has urged the UPND Administration to allocate more resources towards development of the education sector.
Chief MUSELE was speaking during the commissioning of a one by three classroom block built by the Kalumbila Mine at Kisasa Day Secondary School.
The Traditional leader also urged the government to provide free education to enhance national development.
And Education Minister DOUGLAS SIAKALIMA said Government is committed to improving the education standards of learners in rural areas of the country.
Mr. SIAKALIMA said government is working towards creating an environment where learners and teachers in both urban and rural areas have similar standards of education.
He said government is aware of the challenges that learners and teachers in rural areas are subjected to and is working towards addressing them.
Meanwhile Kalumbila Mine Assistant General Manager JUNIOR KEYSER said the mine will continue helping the community in its area of operation.
