QUIZ PEOPLE CONTESTING POLLS, ECL ASKS CHURCH
By Hector Simfukwe
President Edgar Lungu has urged the Church to interrogate individuals that are contesting elections at various levels.
President Lungu says this is the only way that they will be able to know their stance on issues such as the declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation.
He says the Church should avoid voting for people who think they can change the lives of people single-handedly.
The President says developing an area requires teamwork and those who do not want to work with others should be avoided.
President Lungu says this is why the PF has fielded Julian Nyemba as its parliamentary candidate in Chifunabuli because she is willing to work with everyone.
The President said this when he held a meeting with Church leaders in Chifunabuli constituency in Luapula province.
And Ms. Nyemba said her passion for education will help her to empower women and girls.
She promised to work hard for the benefit of the people in the constituency.
And speaking on behalf of other Church leaders, Pastor Dominic Mubanga urged President Lungu to continue being humble.
Pastor Mubanga said the church appreciates the fact that President Lungu respects God and the church.
