By Chansa Kunda
Sprinter Rhoda Njobvu has failed to make it to Women’s 100 meters Semifinal race after clocking 11.40 seconds in Heat 3 to finish fourth.
Njobvu could not make it past the quarter finals as only three top times in each heat automatically qualified to the semifinals of the competition.
She however as a lifeline and will be back on the track on Monday in the Women’s 200 meters event.
And Zambia Athletics -ZA- president Elias Mpondela says Njobvu’s performance was credible despite not making it to the semifinals.
Mpondela has told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that the Athlete put up a good performance as she raced with the best Athletes in world in the heat.
He has since expressed optimism that Njobvu will deliver when she competes in the 200 meters race adding that had she adapted early, she would have cruised into semifinals.
