
SAMFYA TOURISM NODDED
(ZANIS) The Luapula Chamber of Commerce and Industry has praised government for not abandoning ongoing tourism development projects in Samfya District.
Chamber President EMMANUEL MUNSANJE says the continuation of the construction of the International Convention Centre in Samfya, is a clear sign of government’s commitment to developing the country.
Mr. MUNSANJE says the government deserves commendation saying they have defied the trend of new governments abandoning incomplete projects.
He is confident that the Workers Compensation Fund Control Board which is constructing the tourism infrastructure will accomplish the project on time.
Mr MUNSANJE said the construction of the international convention centre, a shopping mall and a three -star hotel on the Bangweulu beach frontage is likely to transform Samfya into the gateway to the northern circuit tourism.
And a Luapula based Development Promoter has described the construction of the tourism infrastructure on the shores of Lake Bangweulu as a milestone.
Bishop HAROLD SIMACHOMPA said Luapula is likely to attract global attention owing to the nature of the infrastructure coming up.
And local tourist, MARGARET MWANZA has called on Zambians to help market the tourism potential of the country.
Ms. MWANZA, a Copperbelt-based local tourist has called on Zambians to use social media to market tourist attraction sites such as the Samfya Sand Beaches.
