SCHOOLS TO RECEIVE FUNDING – MUSOKOTWANE
By Justine Akakulubelwa
Finance Minister, SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE, says all the government schools will receive funding before the opening of term one in January next year.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says the government is fully aware of its responsibility after the abolishment of school fees.
He says the government will also extend the funding to community schools so that they continue operating and offer quality education.
The Minister said this is in response to RUTH HENSEN, Livingstone resident who expressed concern over the survival of schools next term, in the absence of school fees.
Mrs. HENSEN said schools, especially Parents and Teachers Associations, PTAs, were made to come up with fees, to keep the schools operating because of poor funding or release of grants to schools.
