Plant a Million Trees Zambia Chief Executive officer Emmanuel Chibesakunda has called for concerted efforts to stop deforestation and plant trees to address the effects of climate change.
Mr. Chibesakunda says his organisation is grateful to President Edgar Lungu for being a champion of Plant A Million Trees and providing guidance emphasizing the need of protecting natural resources, the environment.
He says all citizens need to join the President’s call to ensure that they join and supports measures aimed at addressing the effects of Climate Change for the generations to come.
Mr Chibesakunda was speaking when his organisation Planted a symbolic tree at the AGCO Future farm in Commemoration of World Forest Day in Lusaka.
Meanwhile, AGCO Future Farm General Manager, Kalongo Chitengi said management is committed to take part in climate change and adaptation activities to ensure that the earth forested and a better place to live in.
And, Lusaka Scouts Programmes Commissioner Gibson Chilyobwe urged his young people to take part in painting tress country wide to help the country address the effects of climate change and deforestation .
