SUPPORT GOVT, TRADITIONAL LEADERS URGED

Paramount Chief CHITIMUKULU of the Bemba speaking people of Mungwi District says the government’s economic growth trajectory requires support from all stakeholders who include traditional leaders.
Chief CHITIMUKULU says the UPND administration is a new government that must be given the opportunity to deliver development.
The Traditional leader says what all Zambians want is meaningful development.
He says roads in Northern Province are in need of serious rehabilitation as most of them are in a bad state.
The traditional leader says roads are required for movement of people, goods and services and hence must be well maintained.
Chief CHITIMUKULU was speaking when Infrastructure Housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI called on him at his residence in Kasama.
Mr. MILUPI assured the traditional leader that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and the UPND government will not interfere in the affairs of Chiefdoms and respects the systems that govern chiefdoms.
Mr. MILUPI said infrastructure development is required for the transformation of the economy.
He explained that for Zambia to make exports it is important that there is a good road network in place.
