TENNIS TO BE ROLLED OUT IN SCHOOLS
The Zambia Tennis Association -ZTA- will next month roll out the sport in schools and rural areas.
ZTA-President GIBSON PHIRI says a policy framework has been drafted to ensure that the sport is reintegrated in society and introduced in schools.
PHIRI told ZNBC Sports news in an interview that provincial centers like Mansa in Luapula and Chipata in Eastern will be used as pilots for the project.
He said with the framework at hand it will be easy for the Association to monitor and evaluate the progress made.
And PHIRI said Association is in talks with former players, partners and other sponsors on how they can raise funds and get equipment in a bid to make the sport accessible.
He said the aim of the project is to tap talent from the grassroots and nurture the players into future stars.
