By Etambuyu Katota
Trade Kings Foundation has donated advanced oxygen concentrators, respiratory accessories and hygiene products to 5 level one hospitals in Lusaka.
The health facilities are Chipata, Chawama, Matero, Chilenje, Chelstone and Kalingalinga and Bauleni clinics.
Trade Kings Group Corporate Affairs Manager Bridget Kambobe says the donation is in response to the high demand of oxygen therapy needed to help COVID-19 patients who face difficulties in breathing.
Ms. Kambobe says the company through its Foundation will also continue supplementing Government efforts in preventing and managing the COVID-19 pandemic that has seen an alarming rise in the number of cases and deaths countrywide.
She says medical oxygen and cylinders are in short supply and Universal Mining in Kafue, a member of the Trade Kings Group is currently supplying oxygen to UTH and other medical facilities.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Lusaka, Ms. Kambobe said Universal Mining will continue to supply oxygen to UTH throughout the pandemic at no cost.
And Lusaka Provincial Health Director, Dr. Consity Mwale expressed gratitude on behalf of the Ministry of Health for the invaluable donation.
