TRADITIONAL LEADERS URGED TO PREACH PEACE
By Kruger Siankulu-National Guidance and Religious Affairs Permanent Secretary, Howard Sikwela, has called on traditional leaders across the country to preach peace before, during and after this year’s general election.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief Shakumbila of the Sala people in Mumbwa District, Reverend Sikwela said the forthcoming polls should not divide Zambians.
He said the people of Zambia should continue to co-exist under the One Zambia One Nation motto.
Reverend Sikwela was in Mumbwa District of Central Province to sensitise traditional leaders on national values and principles.
And Senior Chief Shakumbila said he will continue working with the government of the day.
The traditional leader said he does not see the need for change of government looking at the various developments going on in his chiefdom.
