Trafigura Donates Masks
Trafigura Services of South Africa has donated 70,000 face masks and other Personal Protective Equipment to the Ministry of Health.
The items, which have been handed over through Konkola Copper Mines -KCM- also include 50,000 pairs of protective gloves and suits for frontline medical personnel.
And Trafigura Service Representative, Franck Rogozin says the items have been handed over through KCM, due to the restrictions in movements, owing to the COVID-19.
This was in a speech read on his behalf by KCM Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Sheppards, via video conference with Health Minister, Chitalu Chilufya.
He has further disclosed that KCM’s initial budget for the COVID-19 is above 1 point 2 Million kwacha, which includes 2 clinics provided on the Copperbelt, as holding centres for the Covid -19 suspects.
And receiving the donation, Dr Chilufya has praised KCM and Trafigura Services for the gesture, as it will help enhance the fight against the COVID-19 in Zambia.
