UNDER 17 CHIPOLOPOLO CLOSER TO QUALIFYING FOR AFCON 2023
Zambia Under 17 Football team have moved a step closer to qualifying to the 2023 under 17 Africa Cup of Nations set for Algeria after beating Seychelles seven goals to one.
Zambia opened its flood gates of goals putting Seven past Seychelles to book a place in the semi finals of the COSAFA championship at the ongoing Africa Union sports Council Region five games with a game to spare.
Emmanuel Mwanza scored a glut, his goals coming in the 33rd , 42nd, 75th, 86 th and 90 plus minutes to help his team make it to the last four of the championship.
ZNBC’s MUSENGE MULIMBA reports that Seychelles’s Shawn Adrienne was given marching orders in the 38th minute for dangerous play.
Luketekelo Kapowa , Kelvin Phiri and Samson Malaya added their names on the score sheet with a goal each.
Hoareau Lorenzo scored a second half consolation goal for Seychelles in the 77th minute.
And Zambian Coach IAN BAKALA says topping group B is now the team’s main focus as they face a stubborn South Africa on Wednesday.
He described the last Group B game against South Africa as tough because both teams will be aiming to top the group.
And Seychelles Coach Michel Renaud said the result was disappointing but will work to improve in the next match against Mozambique.
Winners and runners up of the championship will qualify to 2023 under 17 Africa cup of nations.
