Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says unity of purpose is key in driving the social economic agenda for job and wealth creation.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says this is why government is creating an enabling environment for all citizens to take part in the country’s economic transformation journey.
She was speaking during the Mutomboko fundraising black tie dinner dance in Lusaka.
Mrs. NALUMANGO said government attaches importance to traditional ceremonies as they signify unity of diverse and rich cultural heritage.
Meanwhile Green Economy and Environment Minister COLLINS NZOVU appealed to traditional leaders to sensitise their subjects on the sustainable use of natural resources.
Mr. NZOVU said as custodians of people and natural resources, traditional leaders can help curb deforestation and arrest those who indiscriminately cut down trees.
And Midlands Mutomboko Committee Chairperson ROBAN MWABA said this year’s ceremony is special as the last one was held 2018.
The Mutomboko ceremony is slated for July 30th in Kazembe village of Mwansabombwe District.
