VANDALS SENTENCED

The Livingstone High Court has sentenced two men to 13 years imprisonment with hard labour for vandalising ZESCO property.
Josphate Nyambe, 23, and Kelvin Soko, 24, both of Maamba Town in Sinazongwe District of Southern Province, vandalized cables valued at over 25 -thousand Kwacha at Siatwende Irrigation Farm in Sinazongwe District.
ZESCO Spokesperson, Henry Kapata has confirmed to ZNBC News in Livingstone that the two were sentenced yesterday by Justice Kenneth Mulife.
Meanwhile, a former Zambia National Service officer from Choma, Ephraim Bwalya aged 37, and a businessman Edgar Chibomba 35, have also been sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labour for stealing 11 Zesco conductors worth over 3-hundred-and 27-thousand Kwacha.
The two were accompanied by David Botha 53, a crane operator of Lusaka and a Mike Chibanga, 26 a lorry boy who have each been sentenced to ten months imprisonment with hard labour for being accomplices.
The matter was before Mazabuka Magistrate Peter Mungala.
