VEEP CALLS FOR PRAYERS AHEAD OF AUGUST POLL
(ZANIS) Vice President Inonge Wina has called on the Catholic Church to pray for the nation as the country heads towards the August 12 general election, saying emotions are getting out of hand.
Speaking when she met Kabwe Catholic Diocese Bishop Clement Mulenga in Kabwe today, the Vice President said the overall objective of the church is to enhance Christian values and morals in community.
She assured the clergyman that government will continue working with the Catholic Church in different sectors such as education and health as both parties serve the same communities.
And Bishop Mulenga praised the Vice President for her motherliness in handling national matters.
He hoped that the incoming Vice President will equally be calm as God is in control and emulate her to do the best for the country.
The clergyman acknowledged the massive infrastructure in the province by government especially the construction of houses for the men and women in uniform.
Bishop Mulenga assured the Vice President that the Catholic Church will continue to work together with the government of the day in supplementing its efforts.
