By Masauso Mkwayaya
Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called for integration of Climate Change and Disaster Risk institutions in order to effectively manage disasters.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says Climate Change is the main cause of disasters adding that institutions which deal with the phenomenon should therefore not exist in isolation.
She said this at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka upon arrival from the United States of America -USA- where she was attending disaster risk meetings at the United Nations -UN- Headquarters in New York City.
Mrs. NALUMANGO also called for the operationalisation of the Adaptation Fund to help developing countries like Zambia to adapt to Climate Change.
And Mrs. NALUMANGO has urged the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference -COP-28 scheduled for this year to address the matter and ensure that Climate Change and Disaster Risk institutions are aligned.
