WORLD BANK FUNDS CONSTRUCTION OF OXYGEN PLANTS
The World Bank through the COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Support Project has provided funding to construct and install oxygen plants in five cities.
Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services KENNEDY MALAMA says the oxygen plants will be constructed and installed in Ndola, Lusaka , Livingstone, Solwezi, and Chipata.
He says this will ensure availability of medical oxygen in hospitals in the five towns as well other surrounding areas.
Dr Malama said this in a statement to ZNBC news.
And Dr. MALAMA said in the last 24 hours, the country recorded 680 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths.
Meanwhile Dr. MALAMA says government is determined to expand the available COVID-19 vaccines in line with the approved basket of vaccines.
He also advised people who get the AstraZeneca jab for dose 1 to get the same vaccine in dose 2.
