
World Bank upbeat about Zambia’s economic prospects
Mwila Nsofu-The World BANK has assured Zambia of support in technology so that growth and development can be attained.
World Bank Vice President for East and Southern Africa VICTORIA KWAKWA says the bank is paying attention to technology because it has many benefits.
Dr KWAKWA was speaking in LUSAKA , when she paid a courtesy call on President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA at State House.
And, President HICHILEMA has called on the World Bank to work and support Zambia to digitalize its economy.
President HICHILEMA says digitizing the economy will help the country improve its revenue base and also enhance productivity and efficiency.
He says digitalization is now crucial and must be embraced in various sectors of the economy to avoid wastage of resources.
And Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE said government has prioritized support to the social sectors among them is the free education policy.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE further said Government has also increased its fight against corruption and is working at debt management.
