YOUTHS TIPPED
By Paul Shalala:
The Buchi Youth Vocational Training Center in Kitwe has urged youths who dropped out of Grade Nine and 12 to take advantage of the new Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises to get life skills and create their own jobs.
College Principal Victoria Mweemba says the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises is the best avenue for graduates of skills colleges to open their own businesses and employ others.
Speaking when Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya visited the center to familiarize herself with the operations, Ms Mweemba said youths who graduate with life skills can register their own companies.
Ms Mweemba says the center enrolls drop outs because they need a skill which can help them provide income for themselves.
And Ms Mwaya has promised to engage all the five Members of Parliament in Kitwe to consider sponsoring at least five youths from each of the 32 wards to pursue courses at the Buchi Youth Vocational Training Center.
