Industrial Development Corporation -IDC- Group Chief Executive Officer Mateyo Kaluba, says ZAFFICO delayed submitting the expenditure returns on Mukula logs revenues due to an oversight.
Mr. Kaluba has attributed the oversight to the change in the management structure of ZAFFICO.
He said this before the Parliamentary Committee on Parastatals chaired by Patriotic Front-PF Msanzala member of parliament Peter Daka.
According to the Auditor General -AG’s Report over 5-point 4-million United States Dollars was raised from the export of Mukula logs between September 8 ,2016 and December 7, 2018.
Meanwhile ZAFFICO Managing Director Kangwa Bwalya told the Public Accounts Committee that there is a higher demand for Pine than Eucalyptus trees in Zambia.
Mr. Bwalya said the Pine Trees are being scrambled by the construction sector.
He said currently Eucalyptus trees are mainly being sought by the mining sector.
