The Government has started the process of formulating a nuclear programme communication strategy.
The process is currently at validation stage.
Ministry of Technology and Science Permanent Secretary, BRILLIANT HABEENZU, says the communication strategy will help in dispelling myths surrounding nuclear science and technology in Zambia.
Dr. HABEENZU says the Nuclear Programme Implementing Unit -NPU-, which is under his ministry, is spearheading the process.
He was speaking in Lusaka today during the Zambia Nuclear Programme Implementation Unit-Communication Strategy validation workshop.
Dr. HABEENZU said the process has been consultative and brought on board various stakeholders.
The Permanent Secretary said the programme resonates well with government’s resolve of promoting science and technology in a transparent manner.
Dr. HABEENZU further said the strategy will utilise various media methods in achieving its objectives.
And Ministry of Information and Media Director for Press and Media, MODERN MAYEMBE, said there is need to change misconceptions on nuclear issues in the Zambian society.
