ZAMBIA HOLDS BIKE FESTIVAL
By Justine Akakulubelwa:
The first ever Zambia Bike Festival has been held in Livingstone.
Zambia Bike Festival Organiser, Claire Powell, says the festival was created to promote Livingstone as an adrenaline and tourist capital.
Powell has told ZNBC News that the four-day event is also meant to engage the community on the need to keep Livingstone clean and green.
She said through the promotion of cycling, as opposed to using vehicles, Livingstone will be clean and green.
Powell says the cyclists taking part in the Zambia Bike Festival, are being sensitised on the conservation of nature, recycling and human-elephant conflict.
Over seventy cyclists have taken part in today’s thirty-six-kilometre ride.
The Zambia Bike Festival will be held annually on Easter Holidays, and is open to everyone who can ride a bicycle.
