Zambia into Copa Coca-Cola Semi Finals
By Joy Siatubi-Striker Kusa Sifuwe was the hero for Zambia, scoring 5 goals , as the young Copper Bullets white-washed Angola 8-1 to storm the semi finals of the ongoing Copa Coca-Cola Africa cup championship.
Sifuwe, who was top scorer during the national championship in September, has now increased his tally to SIX goals.
He, however, missed a penalty in the 27th minute, shooting over the bar, much to the relief of Angolan goalie, Pedro Neto.
The Senanga-based lad opened the scores for Zambia in the 8th minute, before finding the back of the net four more times, in the 16th, 51st, 57th and 59th minutes.
Innocent Phiri, Davies Sawaisha and Kennedy Mwansa were Zambia’s other scorers for the day.
Angola got their consolation through Demilson Trindade, whose well calculated free-kick was too good for Matthews Mwamba in goal.
Zambia will now meet Zimbabwe in the last on Wednesday.
Zimbabwe booked their semi final spot after beating Namibia 4-1.
And speaking in an interview after the match, Team Zambia Coach Weluzani Zulu praised his boys for the splendid performance.
Zulu has, however, warned against complacency, saying his target is to reach the final and win the trophy.
Meanwhile, Sifuwe is delighted at scoring 6 goals so far, further promising more.
He has called on Zambians to have faith in the team.
