Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA says Zambia is on course to achieve 1.5m visitors into the country by the end of the year.
Mr. SIKUMBA says looking at the numbers the country received in the first quarter of this year, through conferences such as the democracy summit and the statisticians’ conference, Zambia may surpass its target.
Mr. SIKUMBA says unofficial figures indicate that Zambia may have received close to 1.2m foreign tourists into the country.
He says with more international conferences that Zambia is set to host such as the Public Relations Practitioners International conference coupled with other measures put in place by the Ministry to increase visitations, Zambia will easily hit the one 1.5m visitors target.
Mr SIKUMBA was speaking in Livingstone at the International Cultural and Arts festival where he planted trees.
