
ZAMBIA TARGETS TO BASEBALL WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION

The Zambia Baseball and Softball Association says it targets to qualify a team to the first ever 2022 Baseball 5 World Cup competition.
Association General Secretary KENNY MATISHI says in order to attain the dream, Zambia will strive to be among the top two teams at the Inaugural 2022 African Baseball 5 Championship that starts this weekend in Dar es salaam ,Tanzania.
The Competition that has attracted 10 countries is set to run from June 23rd to 26th 2022.
And MATISHI says team Zambia target to emerge Champions and qualify to the world cup.
He told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that eight Athletes comprising four male and female will be representing the country.
MATISHI has further thanked the National Sports Council and National Olympic Committee for releasing funds on time.
And Zambia was drawn in Group B along side Egypt, Burkina Faso, Kenya and hosts, Tanzania.
Group A has Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tunisia, Ghana and Uganda.
Zambia will face Burkina Faso in their opening game before facing Egypt and hosts Tanzania while Kenya will be their last group opponent.
