
Zambia To Host African Youth Chess Championship
Chansa Kunda-Zambia has been given rights to host the 2022 African Youth Chess Championship slated for June.
Chess Federation of Zambia- CFZ- President MUKUBULO CHILUFYA says at least 12 Athletes from each African Country will convene in Zambia’s tourist Capital Livingstone for the continent’s biggest show piece at Youth level.
CHILUFYA says as host nation, Zambia will field over 30 Junior Chess players who will compete for honors during the prestigious tournament.
He told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that the Federation has outlined a budget worth over 9-Hundred and 50-Thousand Kwacha to successfully host the event.
CHILUFYA said talks with the cooperating partners are already under way with most of the firms engaged giving massive feedback on their willingness to come on board.
He further said the Federation will next week engage the Ministry of Youth Sport and Arts so that they can come on board.
CHILUFYA said preparations are already underway adding that the quest is to get all Venues ready on time.
He has since appealed to other corporate entities to come on board and sponsor the championship.
