Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, STANLEY KAKUBO says Zambia will assert itself on global affairs that have capacity to affect the country’s economic, political and social development.
Mr. KAKUBO says Zambia’s voice will be critical especially on matters of bilateral and multilateral partnerships.
He said this on the sidelines of the African Union/European Union 2nd Ministerial meeting being held in Kigali Rwanda.
Mr. KAKUBO has also welcomed the decision by the EU to commit over 4-point one billion dollars for Africa’s development further stating that Zambia is poised to benefit from the financial facility.
He said Zambia is also looking to secure funds that could help minimize the adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic to the economy.
The Minister is among African and European Ministers attending the high-level AU/EU 2nd Ministerial Meeting.
The meeting is also preparing for the Heads of State Partnership Meeting that will take place next year.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC news by First Secretary for Press at Zambia’s Embassy in Ethiopia INUTU MWANZA.
