Zambians should treasure free education – VEEP

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says the free education policy that the new dawn government has introduced should make every Zambian proud.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says the policy has given every child an opportunity to access education.
She notes that the recruitment of over 30000 teachers will help in improving the teacher-pupil ratio especially in primary schools which have seen an increase in the number of learners.
The Vice President was speaking on arrival at Mansa Airport for a one-day work visit in Luapula Province.
Mrs. NALUMANGO said government will not stop at recruiting teachers and offering free education, but will create a lot of jobs through the private sector as recently witnessed with the creation of the Private Sector Dialogue Forum.
She called on Zambians to support the UPND government in accelerating development in the country.
And Luapula Province Minister DERRICKY CHILUNDIKA thanked the Vice President for the free education policy.
Mr. CHILUNDIKA noted that the policy has seen a high number of pupils in Mansa and Luapula province as a whole accessing education especially in rural communities.
The Vice President who is in the Province to attend the Bwilile traditional ceremony of the Bwile people in Chienge District also received defectors from different political parties.
