ZAMBIA’s CULTURE CAN ATTRACT TOURISTS

Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA says showcasing Zambia’s culture to the outside world will encourage tourists in the country.
Mr. SIKUMBA says Zambia must take advantage of the Diplomatic relations it has with various countries to market the country.
Speaking when he awarded Diplomats who participated in the inaugural Diplomatic Fun Fair on October 23rd in Lusaka, Mr. SIKUMBA said government will partner with diplomats for cultural exchange programmes.
And Zambia National Museums Board Developments and Marketing Manager LLOYD SITUMBEKO said as custodians of the country’s heritage, it will ensure it adds value towards the ministry’s mandate in the promotion of tourism.
Meanwhile, India’s High Commissioner to Zambia ASHOK KUMAR said tourism is the best way for countries to advertise themselves and reflect their cultures and aspirations.
The Angolan Embassy was awarded for presenting the best food stand while the Indian Embassy was awarded for the best culture performance.
The Zambia National Museums Board received the award for the best decorated stand.
