ZAMREN TO ROLL OUT FREE INTERNET
The Zambia Research and Education Network -ZAMREN- is planning to roll out internet services to public places such as malls for easy access by students and academics.
ZAMREN Chief Executive Officer STEIN MKANDAWIRE says the company will extend its internet connectivity to shopping malls, bus stations and airports where its Educational Platform EDUROAM can easily be accessed.
He told ZNBC News that ZAMREN has already started engaging local authorities and mall owners on its intentions.
Meanwhile University of Zambia Student representative JOSPHAT NYIRONGO said internet access is important for students as it allows them access to various study materials online.
ZAMREN provides internet services to education and research Institutions at costs lower than commercial firms.
