The Zambia Congress of Trade Union- has backed government’s intentions to ratify the International Labour Organizations-ILO Convention -190,as one of the subsidiary laws to deal with violence and harassment in places of work.
ZCTU Secretary General Cosmas Mukuka says the ILO-Convention 190 will greatly supplement local laws that tackles violence and harassment in places work.
Mr. Mukuka told ZNBC NEWS that there is need to holistically tackle all forms of violence and harassment in places of work.
And ZCTU Director of Gender Naomi Kimbala said violence in places of work regardless of the gender of the victims is counterproductive.
