ZESCO faces Angola’s de Agosto
Zambian champions ZESCO United this evening take on Premiere de Agosto of Angola in what might look like a formality game to be played at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
This is after ZAMALEK of Egypt were held to a goalless draw with TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo yesterday in Cairo.
And Premiere de Agosto coach Dragan Jovic predicated a tough encounter with the Ndola side.
Meanwhile, Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederations Cup ZANACO Football Club will tomorrow take on Motema Pembe of the Democratic republic of Congo in a crucial Group B encounter to be played at the National Heroes’ Stadium.
ZANACO Football Club coach Chris Kaunda says he targets to get his second group stage victory against the resilient DRC Club team who are second of Group B.
Kaunda says ZANACO will not underrate their opponents in tomorrow’s game that could possibly see the bankers move in the top two should they win.
Speaking during a press briefing held in Lusaka today, the former Nkwazi FC coach said Motema Pembe are a good side, capable of causing an upset if left unmarked.
And Motema Pembe coach Isaac Ngata is hopeful his side will remain in the top two after tomorrow’s games.
Ngata said he is aware that both teams are desperately in need of a victory to keep their chances of making it past the group stage alive.
Motema Pembe are second of group B and tied on seven points with log leaders RSB Berkane while ZANACO are third with ESAE bottom of the standings.
RSB Berkane will take on ESAE as the race for supremacy in group B continues tomorrow.
